YOUR FIRST
THROW STARTS HERE.

New to Houston darts or trying your first league? Here's what to know before you step up to the oche.

GET STARTED

THREE STEPS TO LEAGUE NIGHT.

01

Find your place

Visit a darts-friendly venue and check if a blind draw or practice night is offered. Confirm current schedules directly with the host.

VENUE DIRECTORY
02

Get connected

Use the existing new-player interest form. Organizers can help identify Urban or Westside teams with openings.

PLAYER INTEREST
03

Take your shot

League teams traditionally play home and away fixtures over a season. Your captain will explain match order and format.

THE ASSOCIATION'S PLAYER WELCOME GUIDANCE

BEFORE YOUR FIRST SEASON.

01

Find your teammates

A kickoff meeting before the season gives new players and incomplete teams a chance to connect. The next date must be confirmed with organizers.

02

Be reliable

Matches are usually home and away. Let your captain know if you cannot attend; the rules call for at least two hours' notice for a postponement request.

03

Prepare the scoreboard

At least one teammate needs a DartConnect account (free works for regular team league play), and each team brings a connected smart device.

GAME 01501

COUNT DOWN TO ZERO.

Start at 501 and subtract each turn's points. In common double-out play, finish on a double, including the inner bull. Different league formats can use different opening and finishing rules.

EXAMPLE FINISH40 LEFT → DOUBLE 20
GAME 02CRICKET

CLOSE YOUR NUMBERS.

Target 15 through 20 and the bull. Close each with three marks. Triples count three marks; doubles count two. Once closed, score on an opponent's open number and finish with no points deficit.

EXAMPLETRIPLE 20 → 3 MARKS

Tournament and league rules can vary. Always check the current match sheet and organizer instructions.

GOOD TO KNOW

ARRIVE READY TO THROW.

01

Bring your darts

A set of three steel-tip darts is a good starting point. Ask about borrowing or trying equipment.

02

Meet your team

Arrive early, introduce yourself and ask how scoring and board assignments work.

03

Respect the throwing lane

Never approach the board while someone is throwing. Wait until the board is clear.

04

Learn DartConnect

Space City Darts uses DartConnect for league scoring. The official guide covers X01 and Cricket.

Space City Darts asks players to arrive on time, respect the oche, check scoring before removing darts and avoid coaching while serving as a scorekeeper. Its league rules also require venue permission for underage participation. Venue age policies and separate youth events may differ. See the rules summary →
